Woolworths has appointed three new board members to the company.

Christine Cross, David Mackay and Michael Ullmer have all been welcomed to the company as non-executive directors.

Cross, who is now a retired Tesco executive, runs her own retail advisory consultancy is also a non-executive director of Next plc (UK multi-channel clothing and general merchandise retailer), Sonae Group (largest grocery retailer in Portugal) and Plantasgen (a private equity owned garden centre group in Scandinavia).

Meanwhile, Mackay is a retired president, CEO and director of the Kellogg Company. He was also managing director of Sara Lee Bakery in Australia.

Similarly, Ullmer brings a wealth of experience from the accounting and banking sectors. He retired as deputy group chief executive at National Australia Bank (NAB) in August 2011 where he was also a director of NAB, Bank of New Zealand and chairman of the subsidiaries Great Western Bank (US) and JBWere.
