Australian point of sale solution provider, ImPOS announced a partnership last week with global business intelligence and analytics software vendor Yellowfin, to enable more comprehensive reporting, tracking and analytical capabilities for ImPOS clients within the hospitality industry.

The partnership will improve sales strategies, ordering and supply chain processes for restaurant, bar and café owners. It will enable ImPOS to provide feature-rich and intuitive BI software to its clients while simultaneously allowing its development team to concentrate on its core POS application.

The partnership has seen ImPOS integrate Yellowfin’s easy-to-use BI platform into its POS solution.  The joint offering will deliver reporting and analytics capabilities on transaction data for ImPOS’ current and future clients in the hospitality industry.

ImPOS Founder and Managing Director, Sean O'Meara, said that partnering with Yellowfin would assist their clients to monitor and assess their up-to-the-minute POS data, helping them to improve sales strategies, ordering and supply chain processes.

“Joining forces with Yellowfin allows us to provide the very best user experience for our clients by delivering best-of-breed POS and best-of-breed BI – with no compromises,” said O'Meara.

“Tracking and analysing business performance is incredibly important in the hospitality industry, and we are pleased that we can help our clients do this by providing access to such a powerful and user-friendly analytics tool. Now our clients have the ability to build just about any report they need – to their liking – quickly and easily.”

ImPOS CTO, Matthew Young, said that the partnership enabled ImPOS to provide feature-rich and intuitive BI software to its clients while simultaneously allowing its development team to concentrate on its core POS application.

“At ImPOS, we pride ourselves on being innovators in our industry and, like-wise, Yellowfin is also innovating the Business Intelligence industry,” said Young.  “We saw them as a natural partner – being an Australian-based company taking a fresh approach.

“This partnership means that we can provide fantastic add-ons to our clients, without diverting valuable development time from our core offering.  It’s a win-win situation for us and our clients.”

Yellowfin Managing Director for APAC, Martyn Reeves, said that the partnership would assist Yellowfin to expand its foothold within the Australian hospitality industry.

“Partnering with an innovative provider of POS software solutions, such as ImPOS, will deliver hospitality businesses valuable data-driven insights,” said Reeves.  “The ImPOS partnership will also enable Yellowfin to develop a deeper understanding of the analytics needs of the hospitality industry throughout Australia.”

ImPOS’ current and existing clients will use Yellowfin’s reporting and analytics capabilities to make better operational and strategic decisions.  Assessing operational data will enable ImPOS clients to develop such things as more effective stock ordering, rostering and budgeting plans to improve margins and customer service.

Analysing data such as year-on-year sales and revenue will allow ImPOS clients to accurately forecast trends and develop better long-term sales strategies.

George Aspros, the owner of Mordeo Bistro & Bar, has used ImPOS and Yellowfin to create customisable advanced reports to suit very specific business needs.

“We use Yellowfin to integrate our point-of-sale data on ImPOS with the rostering system to compare historical data and make accurate rostering and budgeting plans for seasonal changes and public holidays,” said Aspros.

ImPOS works with thousands of hospitality businesses across Australia, including leading names such as MoVida, Huxtable, Catalina, Domaine Chandon and Pei Modern, to name a few.
