Groupon expands mobile offering

Groupon Australia and New Zealand has expanded its mobile offerings .

Already available on iPhone, the Groupon app can now be added to the Nokia Symbian, Adnroid and Windows7 smartphones. This allows customers to subscribe, buy, manage and redeem Groupons more easily.

“The expanded suite of smartphone applications allows shoppers to buy, manage and redeem Groupons on the go, bringing the best of their city directly to their pockets no matter where they are,” said Mihir Shah, VP and general manager of Groupon’s mobile division.

“Consumers today want choice and flexibility where they make their purchases. In December of 2011, 25 per cent of North American Groupon purchases were made from a mobile device. As we expand our app internationally onto more devices, we expect more consumers to take advantage of local commerce anytime, anywhere.”
