Dunkin Brands franchisor of ice-creamery chain Baskin Robbins has terminated the Australian master franchise held by Allied Brands Services.

Dunkin Brands Inc is now operating the Baskin Robbins Australia franchise network.

Allied Brands said in statement last week that “it is disappointed that a settlement could not be reached with Dunkin Brands Inc and reserve its rights regards damages caused by the termination of its agreement”.

At the time of reporting, Retailbiz contacted Allied Brands for further comments but none were made.

Allied is now assisting Dunkin Brands in transitioning the business so that it causes a minimum disruption to Allied Brands former franchises.

Subsequent to this termination Westpac Banking Corporation has appointed McGrath Nicol as Receivers and Managers to certain assets of Allied Brand Services and of Allied Brands Finance.

According to Allied, it is in discussions with its secured creditors and will notify the market as soon as decisions are made regarding the position of the company and its remaining companies.
