Cold Rock Ice Creamery will be investing heavily in Western Australia with plans to open over 25 stores across the state in the next two years.
Owner Franchised Food Company (FFCo) is seeking franchises in sites including Perth, Albany, Mandurah, Broome, Geraldton, Bunbury and Margaret River. Cold Rock plans to open at least 15 stores in the capital and another 10 in regional WA.
Stan Gordon, FFCo manage director said there are plenty of growth opportunities in the WA market, as there are currently on two stores located in the state.
“The market is ripe for increased competition. The state’s climate, population growth and strong economy coupled with the unique Cold Rock offering ensures the brand is well positioned to succeed,” he said.
The company is implementing an aggressive franchise recruitment campaign including print, radio and online advertising as well as a series of seminars.
According IBISWorld, Australia is the third largest consumer of ice cream in the world with each person eating an average of 18 litres a year.
“The quality of the Cold Rock brand has attracted many experienced business operators. While some franchisees are happy to settle for a single store, we make every effort to support and encourage franchisees looking to build a multi-store portfolio,” Gordon said.
