The redeveloped Rundle Place is set to celebrate its official opening to the public with a gala event on 26 March.
The $385 million retail development, which is anchored by a Harris Scarfe department store and Coles supermarket and has 70 specialty outlets, now boasts a sleek modern design. It has an art skylight bringing in natural light to all four retail levels and facilities and fixtures designed for convenience, such as free WiFi throughout.
“Just as Adelaide is gearing itself for the wind down of the mad-March festival season, the shopping celebrations will commence with the opening of this exciting retail centre. Its unique mix of new and existing beloved retailers and a food court like no other in SA will have Adelaide buzzing all over again” said Justin Dangerfield, Rundle Place centre manager.
The development also includes an 11-storey commercial tower (set to open in October 2013) which is pre-leased to the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank. The purchase of the adjoining car park by the developers provides 500 casual car parking spaces and 100 pre-leased car spaces that will directly link to each level of the retail centre.
“The centre is now 95 per cent leased and interest continues to be strong. Over the coming weeks we will be able to release more exciting international names who have decided to make Rundle Place their home,” said Ilona Rose, project leasing manager for Rundle Place.
