Leading design-led retail consultancy, greater group (styled in lower case) took home a coveted Gold award at tjhe recent Popai Awards for its work with Optus Singtel.
The national Optus store rollout won gold in the Store Design category at the sold-out black tie event held in Sydney.
greater group was initially engaged by Optus Singtel in 2012 to develop the new customer experience from strategy and design right through to build and implementation and are currently halfway through a 300 store rollout, including flagship stores in Sydney and Brisbane. The project was part of a major national rebrand that included a bold new logo and look and feel for the mobile carrier.
Neil Arrowsmith, global CEO and co-founder, greater group says the initial client brief was to help redefine Optus’ customer experience by introducing innovative design, interactive selling tools and communications to deliver a ‘best in class’ experiential store.
“We’re delighted that we’ve been recognised by our peers and acknowledged for this fantastic project. Not only has it been a momentous task to bring this project to life, but we commend Optus for making the bold move to brand the stores 'Yes', rather than Optus. This was a quantum leap from Optus’ previous design with significant changes inside and out, so we’re thrilled with this result,” says Neil.
Rohan Ganeson, managing director, Optus Singtel, comments, “We have been working with greater group since 2012 to redefine the Optus store experience and they have proven to be an invaluable partner on this project. We are excited by this award and look forward to continuing this transformation.”
Neil adds “To be able to work so collaboratively with a client that really believed in our vision and approach was a privilege. This accolade is testament to the tireless efforts of both the greater group and Optus project teams, it’s been an incredible journey!”
This honour marks the third award win for greater group and Optus this year. The project also won two categories (Best Interior Design – Retail and Best Branded Experience – Marketing) at the Sydney Design Awards held recently in August.
Popai is the global industry association for Shopper Marketing & Marketing Retail and the Popai Awards recognise those who have demonstrated creativity, innovation and inspiration across multiple categories in the shopper marketing industry.
