Harvey Norman has quietly launched its e-commerce website just in time for the Christmas season.
The new site offers a range of products from computers to home appliances through to bathroom and tiles.
It has been designed to allow customers to browse, compare and add products to their wish list. Some of the other features include allowing customers to check store stock, customer ratings and reviews, ask a question about a particular product and zoom in/out of a product image.
The site also doesn’t fall short in its attempt to strengthen its online customer service. Most product sub-categories on the site features ‘buying guides’, which is information customers can use to help them choose between different products – almost to reflect a sales representative if a customer were in-store.
At the same time, the site gives consumers the choice to make their purchases online and either pickup the goods in-store or have it delivered
This comes after company chairman Gerry Harvey was involved in initiating a national retail campaign last year protesting that the government should change the $1000 GST-threshold to level the playing field between local and international retailers.
Harvey Norman also found itself launching a daily deal site in April 2011.
