Workplace solutions company OfficeMax has acquired private print management business Complete Print Solutions (CPS) and Foxprint Solutions, marking the launch of a new division for the company – OfficeMax marketing services.

With the Australian print industry estimated at $7 billion, the acquisitions are expected to play a role in the company’s continued growth and increased penetration into key markets including education, small business, corporate and government sectors.

Charles Agee, managing director of OfficeMax Australia and New Zealand and senior vice-president of OfficeMax Corporation said the acquisition was a logical step in extending its offering to marketing services.

“From our heritage as a paper manufacturer 43 years ago, we have progressed to paper supplier and workplace solutions. Providing a broad spectrum of print and marketing solutions is a natural extension of that core business,” he said.

“This is the foundation on which we will build and continue to invest – in areas that drive shareholder return and value for our clients. It will be an exciting year ahead.”

The move will see the CPS business in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide and the Melbourne-based Foxprint business operate under the OfficeMax brand effective immediately. As part of the agreement, OfficeMax will take over all existing client contracts across a base of government, corporate, entertainment, manufacturing, FMCG, financial services, logistics and pharmaceutical industries.
