As part of a $70 million development, The District Docklands is now home to Market Lane – the largest supermarket based fresh food and convenience precinct within 5km of the Melbourne CBD.
Market Lane will be open until 7pm seven days a week with the Woolworths supermarket open until 10pm. Other retailers in the precinct will include Dan Murphy’s, Priceline Pharmacy, The Humble Baker, The Butcher Club and MarketPlace Fresh. Empire Asian Supermarket and other eateries are schedule to open before the end of the year.
Since relaunching in late 2017, The District Docklands (formerly Harbour Town Melbourne), has become a prime destination for food, shopping, dining and entertainment with over 80 Australian and international brands including Uniqlo, H&M, Skechers, Kathmandu, Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq and Hoyts.
Market Lane will celebrate its launch with an official weekend celebration on November 16 and 17 with live entertainment, giveaways, kids games, interactive workshops, fresh food exhibits, cooking demonstrations with Masterchef winner and Channel 10 show host, Emma Dean.
There will also be a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by former My Kitchen Rules contestant, Lee Chan, alongside Deputy Lord Mayor, Arron Wood, Boon Wurrung Foundation CEO, Gheran Steel and The District Docklands CEO, George Karabatsos.
“We are thrilled to unveil Melbourne’s newest fresh food destination. Market Lane represents the cultural diversity of the city we live in, and is convenient, friendly and fresh – it’s a new one-stop shop for foodies right in the heart of Docklands Melbourne.
