Melbourne Central is allowing customers to return unwanted purchases at its new ‘The Returning’ pop-up store in exchange for a Melbourne Central gift card preloaded up to the value of the returned item. The pop-up will be available from December 13 to December 27, 2019.
Shoppers can also swap the item for something else at the store with all proceeds and products donated to charity partner, Property Industry Foundation in support of Melbourne City Mission – assisting young at-risk homeless people.
Melbourne City Mission senior manager, Molly O’Shaughnessy said they are grateful for the support from Property Industry Foundation and thrilled to be working with Melbourne Central. “These gifts will have a huge impact on young people who are homeless this Christmas.”
Melbourne Central centre manager, Ryan Ling said a pop-up store to return or swap gifts will further elevate the centre’s drive to provide the most original shopping experience this Christmas.
“Melbourne Central is renowned for its vibrant and cultural buzz and over the year we have created a series of experiences which serve as a festive pitstop for all Melburnians.
“We have recently discovered that the appeal of a pop-up store to return or swap gifts is strong with 84% of Australians being extremely likely to visit. Not only would the store bring our shopping festivities to life but it will deliver a fun and simple solution to the inevitable pain points around Christmas time – receiving unwanted gifts.”
