Australia’s largest on-demand supermarket, VOLY is now delivering groceries in 15 minutes or less in Manly, in addition to more than 70 suburbs in Inner Sydney.
The convenience provided by VOLY is resonating with Australians who want to do away with the weekly grocery shop to get more time back, according to co-CEO and co-founder, Thibault Henry.
“There has been a 400% increase in app downloads since December, and we now have over 300 employees across the office and rider teams to support demand,” he said.
“VOLY is now available in more than 70 suburbs in inner Sydney, including Manly, Bondi and Bronte, and we have just launched into 10 new suburbs over the last week. We source directly from over 55 local and national suppliers to provide our customers with a highly local and curated range. We have also recently introduced beer, wine, champagne, spirits, and premixed cocktails to our service.”
VOLY co-CEO and co-founder, Mark Heath believes a focus on fresh produce, as opposed to cold storage, has also proven to be a winning strategy.
“The rapid growth of VOLY’s customer base has been driven predominantly by fresh produce, with our top 20 best-selling products all fresh fruit and vegetables. In addition, our recent introduction of alcohol to the range has resonated strongly with customers who can now get it all in one go with their grocery order and delivered faster than competing and dedicated alcohol delivery services.”
VOLY’s product range has expanded to include fresh, frozen, ready-to-eat, meat alternatives, pharmacy and cleaning, all available online seven days a week from 8am to 10pm. The VOLY app is available on both iOS and Android.
