ALDI has opened its doors at Prospect in South Australia, providing locals with award-winning grocery products and popular Special Buys, together with fresh fruit, vegetables and bread delivered daily.
“We offer a supermarket experience that is like no other in Australia and we are proud to call ourselves ‘Good Different’,” ALDI Australia regional managing director, Viktor Jakupec said.
“It’s our differences such as having never offered single-use plastic bags, utilising a coin deposit system for our trolleys and our tight product range that allow us to bring unbeatable value to our customers every day. Low prices are a big deal for ALDI. This is our fundamental point of difference and one that customers will notice.”
ALDI Prospect features a number of innovations designed for an enhanced shopping experience including simple navigation, expansive wooden produce bays and a modern interior store design including newly designed registers and self-checkouts.
Energy management remains a key priority for ALDI, with natural refrigerant technology and LED lighting a key fixture of the store, contributing to ALDI’s commitment to cut emissions. In June 2021, ALDI achieved its commitment to power its entire operations with 100% renewable electricity, resulting in an 85% reduction in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. ALDI is committed to doing the right thing in every aspect of its operations including reducing food waste with a goal of sending zero waste to landfill by 2025.
ALDI Prospect will be supported by a team of 15 to 20 permanent full and part-time employees. The new store is located at 106 Main North Road, Prospect. Opening hours are 8:30am to 8pm Monday to Friday, with extended trading hours until 9pm Thursday, 8am to 5pm on Saturdays and 9am to 5pm on Sundays.
