Google, Amazon and PlayStation have been named among Asia Pacific’s top businesses for their gift card programs and category innovation at the 2024 Blackhawk Network (BHN) Asia Pacific Awards.
Held at the Blackhawk Network Summit at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne, the event attracted hundreds of senior industry leaders from across the region, along with over 150 brand, retail, and corporate partner organisations.
Attendees gathered to share learnings and discuss topics ranging from the latest market research and sharing examples of cross-category promotions, to examining live commerce, the future of digital payments and the impact of online marketplaces.
BHN vice president of incentives for Asia Pacific and commerce Australia, Peter Malycon said, “Across the region, we are witnessing an uptake within the wider gifting and reward market. Cost of living pressures are rife and continue to impact consumer spending habits. Finding ways to build relationships with customers is of the highest importance, as we see consumers being more selective in their spending habits.
“Gifting and reward programs play a big part in nurturing customer loyalty and providing high quality retail experiences, especially as shoppers increasingly turn to digital commerce channels, where touchpoints are less frequent.”
BHN managing director for APAC and EMEA, Matt Howe added, “This year’s Summit was an opportunity to bring professionals from across our industry together. Being able to spotlight our partners who are excelling in creating dynamic digital experiences for consumers, and sharing valuable insights from fellow players in the market is key to improving customer experience and driving growth within the gift card sector.”
