Auctane, which empowers businesses with mailing and shipping solutions through products like ShipStation, Stamps.com, Metapack, and Packlink, has hired a new chief technology officer (CTO) and chief financial officer (CFO).
Nick Ciubotariu joins Auctane as CTO, bringing over 20 years of experience leading technology strategy and execution for high-growth companies. His experience in building scalable and complex technologies will be instrumental in developing advanced solutions to support rapid growth and meet the evolving needs of Auctane’s customers.
Most recently, Ciubotariu served as senior vice president for global enterprise architecture, AI and digital assets/crypto at Nasdaq. Prior to this, he served as PayPal chief technology officer and held senior leadership positions at Amazon and Microsoft, where he played a key role in developing and delivering solutions like Venmo, Checkout, Amazon Search, Alexa Messaging, and AWS Rekognition.

Sal Lombardi, who joins Auctane as CFO, brings a wealth of operational and financial acumen. In his role, Lombardi will provide strategic financial leadership to support Auctane’s growth plans.
Lombardi joins Auctane from C1, a solutions-based technology company specialising in AI-powered security, infrastructure, and communications, where he served as CFO. Prior to this, he held various senior leadership positions at cxLoyalty over a period of 20 years. Throughout his career, he has a proven track record of success in developing corporate strategies, driving company growth and creating enterprise value.
