Mint Fresh IGA Local Grocer Westmead has officially opened at the Westmead Children’s Hospital forecourt, reflecting a major development for patients, families, and hospital staff, providing grocery essentials that have not been accessible at the precinct until now.

The store offers ready-made meals, fresh produce and microwave meals to instant noodles (with microwave and hot water facilities for shoppers), barista made coffee and cafe foods.

The new store has created up to 25 local jobs with new roles ranging from baristas to managers.

Mint Fresh IGA owners, Antoine and Richard Rizk said, “Since opening our Mint Fresh IGA Local Grocer Westmead store two months ago, we have been overwhelmed by the support and positive feedback from the hospital community. We pride ourselves on being able to listen to our local shoppers and we ensure that our shelves are stocked with products that they want and love.

“When we were developing the store, we were able to survey patients, families, and hospital staff to gather an understanding of what they would like to see from our supermarket. We’re happy we’ve been able to meet their range needs while providing great value and convenience.”

“It has been great getting to know the hospital community and hearing their stories, whilst providing them with fresh products that they love. We’re proud to be part of the Westmead Children’s Hospital precinct and are looking forward to continuing to support the local community.”

Operating since 2011, Mint Fresh IGA Group currently has five stores spanning from the northwest to western Sydney.
