On January 9, the Australian retail community came together and went ‘ALL IN’ to support those affected by the bushfire crisis. Collectively, through the support of their customers, they raised $780,000 for the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund.

General Pants CEO, Sacha Laing said, “On behalf of the retail community involved we are grateful to our customers who supported the ‘ALL IN’ event and moreover give our collective thanks to the Red Cross and firefighter services for the hard work and tireless ongoing support they continue to give our affected communities.”

Australian Red Cross head of engagement and support, Belinda Dimovski said, “We’re so grateful to the retail community for coming together and going ‘ALL IN’ for people affected by these disasters. The donations from the ‘ALL IN’ retail initiative have come at a crucial time. We are, right now and over the coming weeks, distributing emergency cash grants to people who have lost their homes in the fires.

“We’re also investing in long-term recovery programs, in consultation with the communities affected and independent advisors. Our experience in responding to disasters tells us that it may take years for people to feel a sense of ‘normalcy’ again, to feel safe and empowered in their homes and towns. Red Cross will stay with communities, walking alongside them on the road to recovery. We will be there for the long-haul, thanks to the retailers who went ‘ALL IN’ for disaster relief and recovery.”
