Global Retail Brands has entered an agreement to acquire Melbourne-based homeware retailer Salt&Pepper, with the deal expected to be completed on April 15, 2025.
Under the agreement, Global Retail Brands will own and operate Salt&Pepper’s retail, online, and wholesale operations and absorb its about 220 store staff members.
“Under GRB’s ownership, we will invest further in the brand to support its growth and continue to delight our customers,” Steven Lew, Global Retail Brands chairman and CEO, said.
“We see an opportunity to take Salt&Pepper from 25 stores today to 65 stores over the next 12 months.”
Global Retail Brands operates 259 stores across Australia, trading under well-known names such as HOUSE, HOUSE Bed & Bath, Robins Kitchen, MyHouse, and Five Star Factory Direct.
It also has 300 concession stores in overseas markets including South Africa, Denmark, Canada and the US operating under The Custom Chef brand.
