The visual discovery platform is set to open an office in Sydney as it announces the expansion of its mobile ads function into Australia.
Just weeks after launching a new mobile ads tool in the United States, Pinterest says it will be expanding the capability to its Australian users.
The news comes as the company expands its presence in the Asia-Pacific with the opening its first Australian office in Sydney.
The new office will see a dedicated team serving Australia and New Zealand customers, led by newly appointed Country Manager, Carin Lee-Skelton.
She will be focused on further developing the brands in the two countries to help businesses thrive.
“Over the past year, we’ve been meeting growing advertiser demand by scaling our teams where we’ve launched ads such as in Australia and New Zealand, as well as expanding our ads business into new markets,” said Jon Kaplan, Global Head of Sales at Pinterest.
“With Carin’s proven industry knowledge and years of experience driving results for brands on Pinterest, we’re looking forward to further developing the opportunities for businesses in Australia and New Zealand with a local team under her leadership.”
The announcement comes as the visual discovery platform confirms it will be expanding a new feature allowing advertisers to manage and create Pinterest campaigns on their mobiles into Australia.
“Ads on Pinterest add value and enhance content, with businesses providing the fuel to make ideas happen. For this to be successful, we have to create solutions that help businesses reach Pinterest users at the right time, which is why we’ve been releasing features and ad formats that make it easier for businesses to advertise while measuring the results of campaigns. Mobile Ads Tools are available to all US business accounts and is starting to roll out globally including Australia,” Harold Klaje, Global Head of Growth and SMB at Pinterest told Retailbiz.
