Ten franchisees have broken away from the constraints of franchising to create a new brand structure that aims to provide the benefits of being in a large group with the flexibility to better service the local community and drive team member development.

The new brand, Complete Skin and Beauty has opened eight salons in South-East Queensland, one in Canberra and one in Bendigo. The locations include Ashgrove, Albany Creek, MacArthur Central, Mango Hill, Springfield Central, Mt Gravatt, Fairfield Gardens, Woden (ACT), Bendigo and Keperra.

Brand spokesperson Helen Clifton said the new structure allows business owners to pool their own resources for a stronger brand presence and enable better buying power. Reguomlar management and owner meetings will be held to share ideas and provide affordable training.

“In addition, to the benefit of brand presence, we have a talented pool of owners including accountants, beauty therapists and operations managers. Each has committed their area of expertise from marketing and communications to finance and web development, through a committee structure,” she said.

“By creating this structure, we will save on overheads as we are sharing resources with each owner. While there will be strong brand consistency, owners will also have the flexibility to choose products and services that best service their local clients or the talent their team members. This is difficult to achieve in a franchise structure where franchisees are unable to break away from head office decision making.

“Our therapists come to us with incredible ideas for new products and services and now they will have the opportunity to see those ideas come to fruition. We believe this will lead to more empowered team members, better client service and a happier client base.”
