Dick Smith may have a buyer in the coming months.
To date, over 30 parties interested in purchasing the business in Australia and New Zealand have contacted Ferrier Hodgson and this number is expected to increase once advertisements appear this week, according to a Ferrier Hodgson spokesperson.
“We will be placing advertisements online and in national and international newspapers to invite expressions of interest for the Dick Smith and Move businesses in Australia and New Zealand, to be submitted on or by 27 January 2016.
“Once the receivers have assessed the non – binding expressions of interest they will develop a short list of parties who will be invited to commence initial due diligence and then submit formal offers. This process is expected to continue well into February 2016,” the spokesperson said.
When AR asked for a response on the petition launched by Paul Tully. (See story:http://www.applianceretailer.com.au/2016/01/coles-to-honour-gift-vouchers/#.VpMkk7Z97cs), Ferrier Hodgson declined to make comment.
