DoorDash is continuing its Restaurant Disaster Relief Fund to support Australian restaurants adversely  impacted by natural disasters. The application window for the grants are being accepted on a rolling basis through to May 2025.

In partnership with Hello Alice and the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), DoorDash is providing 100 additional $15,000 grants in 2024 for businesses in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

To date, the fund has provided 180 grants to restaurants globally. Grant recipients use the funding for expenses including payroll for existing employees, developing a product or service, sourcing or expanding inventory, marketing and advertising, and general operating expenses like utilities or rent.

DoorDash acting general manager for Australia, Shilpa Arora said, “Australians understand all too well the devastating effects of natural disasters like bushfires and floods. This initiative aims to assist small businesses during their most vulnerable times. It’s straightforward – aiding small businesses in their recovery translates to aiding local communities. DoorDash is proud to relaunch the Disaster Relief Fund in Australia, extending support to those in need.”

To apply for relief, restaurants must have between one and three bricks and mortar locations, fewer than 50 employees per location, have been open for at least six months, and have been impacted by an eligible state or federally declared natural disaster. Applications must be submitted within 12 months of the declared disaster.
