Melbourne Central is launching ‘Studio MC’, the first ever podcast studio in an Australian shopping centre featuring a line-up of top podcasters from around the country.

Customers have the opportunity to tune in and interact with Australia’s top podcast hosts at Melbourne Central every Friday night from until 4 June, 2021, as they discuss current affairs, music, dating, life after footy and everything in between.

This Friday (28th May) will feature Australia’s oldest newspaper, The Betoota Advocate, Australia’s number one TV podcast, So Dramatic! and A1 The Show talking all things hip-hop music. Next Friday (4th June) will see Australia’s number one sports podcast, Dyl & Friends and List Cloggers, speaking about life after football. There will be more podcasts announced soon.

The custom studio kitted out by RODE Microphones gives Melburnians a one-of-a-kind experience to go behind-the-scenes of the popular world of podcasts, according to Melbourne Central senior marketing manager, Prue Arkeveld.

“Aligning with the City of Melbourne’s FOMO Fridays, Melbourne Central is the perfect place to host thought provoking and inspiring discussion from Australia’s leading podcasts,” she said.

“We are excited be collaborating with DM Podcasts to bring shows such as The Betoota Advocate, A1: The Show – A Spotify Original and So Dramatic! to Melbourne for the first time as well as the teams from Dyl and Friends, List Cloggers and Single Minded. In this shopping centre first initiative, we’re taking events to the next level giving our customers a chance to be entertained by some of Australia’s funniest and most intriguing personalities.”

The arrival of Studio MC at Melbourne Central coincides with the FOMO Fridays CBD initiative, inviting Melburnians back to the city to shop, dine and explore.
