Developer Mirvac Group will start the redevelopment of Birkenhead Point in early 2017 to be completed in mid-2017.

Works will include a complete reconfiguration and remix of the western end of Level 2 known as the Flinders Gallery Mall to create a premium fashion outlet precinct, new cafés and a full upgrade to all lift lobbies and two elevators which will connect the Centre’s Ground Level to the roof top car park, providing customers with easier access to convenient parking spaces.

Other minor development works include a small reconfiguration and remix of the western end of Level 1 to further enhance the retail offer.

This development follows recent improvements made by the centre since Mirvac acquired the site, including an extensive upgrade of Birkenhead Point Marina and the introduction of premium global brands such as Armani, Puma, Topshop, Aquila and Lindt.

Mirvac Retail’s senior development manager, Christina Nelson says the new centre will appeal to domestic and international visitors.

“We are excited to commence this first phase of a longer-term master plan to enhance the current retail offering and customer experience at Birkenhead Point and solidify the Centre’s position as a premium retail outlet,” she says.

“This development will improve customer accessibility and convenience, offering new and exciting quality apparel and accessory brands.”

Located on the waterfront in Sydney’s second largest trade area , the centre currently houses over 120 outlet stores including Calvin Klein and Polo Ralph Lauren along with a convenience precinct anchored by Coles, Aldi, a medical centre, fresh food retailers, plus the Birkenhead Point Marina containing over 200 berths.
