Target has potentially swiped one of UK’s ‘leading ladies’ in retail from Marks & Spencer.

According to reports by The Grdiauan, Marks & Spencer development and buying director womenswear Gillian Ridley Whittle has resigned from her position and plans to join Target.

However, Target has refused to provide any comments about Ridley Whittle's addition to the team. It is also unclear what position Ridely Whittle will have in Target.

Ridley Whittle was hired by Marks & Spencer in April to temporarily run its lingerie department following the departure of another executive, before she took up more strategic role in womenswear.
