Marrickville Metro in Sydney’s inner west is now home to a newly refurbished ALDI, joining Coles and Woolworths as the latest supermarket offering for locals.

Opening its doors in early November, the refurbishment incorporates more fresh food offerings including ALDI’s recently expanded vegan, gluten free and organic ranges sourced from local producers.

The refreshed store also features a dedicated liquor section with ALDI’s multi award-winning range, from vegan-friendly Shiraz to the 2019 Gin Masters Gold winner Darley’s Gin.

Marrickville Metro centre manager, Mike Charlton said, “ALDI has always been an important part of the experience and with the new renovation, and new offerings, it will become an even bigger drawcard. By giving Metro shoppers new and tailored options, it has rounded out the shopping variety and choice.”

With the renovations, Marrickville Metro boasts the best ALDI, Coles and Woolworths in Sydney’s inner west and the only centre in the area to have all three supermarkets in their most up-to-date form.

With the launch of the new Metro site on Smidmore Street in June, the centre introduced boutique retailers such as Panetta Mercato, specialising in gourmet and deli items, speciality grocery and local and imported cheese, Astakos Fish Market, offering high quality sustainable Australian seafood and CTD Meats curating beef, poultry, pork, lamb and more.

“Our retailers have been brought together because they offer a superior retail experience for our inner west customer. We want to make sure that the average shopper can come into our fresh food precinct and find everything that they need—whether they’re pulling out all the stops for a special meal, or grocery shopping for the family,” Charlton added.
