The home of luxury menswear in Brisbane is expanding to James Street from its Edward Street home to open a new and re-imagined Mitchell Ogilvie Menswear concept as an additional boutique.
The next-generation store has a strong focus on casualwear and made-to-measure offerings, alongside a carefully curated range of suiting, jackets and trousers. Customers can shop an array of exclusive collections, with the addition of Mitchell Ogilvie tailoring made-to-measure trouser and shorts range.
Mitchell Ogilvie was just 21 years old when he first opened Mitchell Ogilvie Menswearon Edward Street in April 1981, with already half a dozen independent menswear retailers along the street.
“I am filled with an immense sense of excitement surrounding the James Street opening,” he said.
“This is beyond an expansion; it is a bold step into the future of luxury menswear for Brisbane. Our new concept store is a testament to the evolution of style and meets the growing demand of customers, offering a sophisticated blend of casualwear and bespoke tailoring that caters to the stylish customer.”
For over 44 years, Mitchell Ogilvie Menswear has provided customers with a carefully curated collection of the world’s leading designers, often seeing visits from some of the most influential men including business leaders, politicians, royalty, and movie stars.
“My vision has always been to establish a luxury boutique with a renowned standard of excellence with a dedication to the customer, and this vision now carries us to James Street,” Ogilvie said.
Mitchell Ogilvie James Street carries leading global brands, including Canali, Brunello Cucinelli, Jacob Cohen, Altea, Etro, Vilebrequin, Eton, Fedeli, Tramarossa, Tom Ford eyewear, Zegna eyewear, Tateossian, Zimmerli, and Aurelien, with Tombolini and Pini Parma arriving in early 2025.
