More than 120 Price Attack franchisees, support staff and haircare suppliers descended in Sanctuary Cove, Queensland for the 2024 Price Attack National Conference – the first since the pandemic ended.

Price Attack chief operating officer, John Pascoe said the conference was critical for communicating with franchisees on how to keep their businesses dynamic and relevant.

In delivering his keynote presentation, Pascoe said Price Attack defied the retail trend posting growth of just under 5% compared to the retail industry figure of 0.9%. The haircare sector in Australia is worth $2 billion and growing at nearly 5%.

“It’s an exciting time to be part of the haircare sector. We stock thousands of haircare products and can prescribe bespoke treatments to our clients as products continue to evolve and meet customers’ needs like never before,” he said.

“Our suppliers have showcased the latest haircare products and styling tools that our business owners will take back and share with their customers. You cannot beat the energy of a conference – the coming together of people to connect and make real changes to a business.

“It’s a chance to champion those within the business who have worked tirelessly in and on Price Attack in the toughest of times, but also to showcase ideas and opinions along with the chance for our suppliers to share their product knowledge.

“We set an agenda to cover a diverse array of topics vital for our collective growth and success. From operations and industry insights to education, mental health, and sustainability, we brought together people to inspire both self-care and best business practices.”

With a theme of ‘Straight to Success’, Price Attack Springfield Orion’s Jenny Chapman was awarded Franchisee of the Year – with three awards including Salon of the Year. She was also acknowledged for over 17 years with Price Attack, exceptional customer and staff engagement, active involvement with the brand and exemplary commitment to the company’s five-star program.

“It is an honour to receive this award. I share this award with an incredible team of staff and wonderful customers,” she said.

The conference had an international flair with AG Care CEO, Graham Fraser flying from Vancouver with AG Care director of chain beauty retail, Kara Monro from Toronto, along with Cloud Nine Hair care educators, Victoria Morrell and Elizabeth Crawley from London.

Sharing their success with charity partner, Friends with Dignity, a not for profit assisting survivors of domestic violence with refuge and crisis centres, the group raised close to $30,000 at the charity auction.
