Global thrift retailer, Savers has confirmed plans for the opening of a new boutique-style thrift store in Sydney, the first-of-its-kind in the Australian market. The new Savers Thrift Boutique, on Oxford Street in Darlinghurst, comes just three months after the brand’s entrance into New South Wales.
This new inner-city offering will build upon Savers’ Australian success story as a leading re-use champion, offering a selection of one-of-a-kind pre-loved fashion items.
With a rich 25-year history of operating in Australia, this new boutique store will meet the growing consumer demand for sustainable and affordable clothing and accessories that benefits hip pockets and the planet.
Savers Australia managing director, Michael Fisher said bringing the Savers Thrift Boutique to inner-city Sydney marked a significant milestone in its Australian expansion.
“We’re excited to introduce Sydney shoppers to our first-ever Australian boutique store, a unique concept that takes our Thrift Proud movement to the next level,” he said.
“The new store will not only showcase the best in pre-loved fashion but will also strengthen our commitment to sustainability and community impact. At a time when consumers are increasingly conscious of their environmental impact, our new Darlinghurst Boutique on Oxford Street will provide a new and exciting shopping experience. We’re eager to continue our mission of making secondhand shopping a fashionable, sustainable, and accessible option for all.”
The new store will contribute to the over 7.5 million kilograms of textile waste that its 13 existing Australian stores divert from landfill each year.
“Shopping secondhand can help reduce your environmental impact, by conserving the natural resources that would go into producing a new garment. By extending the life of clothing, our customers can take pride in supporting the planet,” Fisher added.
