AMP Capital has announced that Japanese apparel retailer UNIQLO will open its first Gold Coast store at Pacific Fair in mid-2016. It will be the third UNIQLO store to open in Queensland since the brand launched in Australia in 2014.
Pacific Fair is currently undergoing a $670 million redevelopment, which will see it transformed into the leading shopping destination in Queensland and the fourth largest shopping centre in Australia. The UNIQLO store will stretch across a floor space of approximately 993 square metres, and will house the full line up of UNIQLO apparel for men, women and children.
AMP Capital Shopping Centres Managing Director Bryan Hynes said: “The Pacific Fair redevelopment will provide residents and tourists with a world-class shopping experience on the Gold Coast and I’m thrilled to welcome UNIQLO to the centre. The addition of yet another high-quality retailer such as UNIQLO is testament to the calibre of the Pacific Fair redevelopment.”
As the fastest growing region in Australia, the Gold Coast continues to rapidly attract new residents driven by the region’s lifestyle, climate and opportunities. With an affluent trade area population of 587,590 in 2016, Pacific Fair’s world-class offering will more than meet their demand for luxury and leisure.
The Gold Coast is also a tourism mecca, attracting more than 12 million visitors per year, which gives Pacific Fair retailers the opportunity to be exposed to shoppers from all over the world.
When the shopping centre’s redevelopment opens in mid-2016, Pacific Fair will feature a unique mix of international high street brands, luxury retailers and Australian designers plus premium tourism services, personalised experiences and fine dining options.
