Despite reports of some bricks and mortar retail channels experiencing slowing sales, online retailer CatchOfTheDay.com.au reports that consumer interest is at an all-time high.
“Our vendor relationships are stronger than ever,” said CatchOfTheDay.com.au managing director, Gabby Leibovich.
“As a result of these relationships we have been able to provide our customers with significant savings.”
In a tough market, CatchOfTheDay.com.au says it has focused on consolidating its position as the preferred clearance outlet for some of Australia’s largest vendors.
“We provide solutions that protect brand integrity and guarantee a fixed return on investment. Our role is becoming increasingly vital in the current climate as vendors adjust to an unpredictable market.”
Leibovich says that consumer electronics are particularly highly placed on shopping lists, suggesting that consumers will spend money in the current economy, but are looking for a bargain. Leibovich also says that consumers are comfortable with spending online, especially if the product is an established brand.
“Consumers are increasingly value driven,” he said. “We manage a fine balance that delivers attractive value to consumers while providing positive exposure to brands. In recent weeks we have provided solutions to some very satisfied brands. Moving large quantities of Philips cordless phones, Hewlett Packard netbooks, portable hard drives, Logitech cordless desktops, Sandisk Sansa media players, Voxson HD LCD TVs and Bissell vacuums.”
