Australian tyre and auto retailer, JAX Tyres & Auto, has launched an industry-first initiative that offers remote video vehicle checks to customers.

The JAX Video Vehicle Checks are being rolled out to Melbourne customers currently in Stage 4 lockdown, for those who are concerned about vehicle maintenance, don’t want to risk their health or are more than 5km away from their nearest JAX store.

This form of remote customer service is a first for the industry, bolstering the company’s personalised digital experience offering and enhancing its ecommerce capabilities.

Melbourne-based drivers will be able to book and access these video checks via an enhanced website functionality on the JAX Tyres & Auto’s existing webchat to SMS service. Qualified JAX Tyres & Auto technicians will then conduct remote visual inspections to offer expert mechanical and tyre information one-on-one.

“Giving our customers peace of mind about their vehicles is at the heart of what we do. JAX Video Checks combines the best of what we do, our successful digital platform and our expert knowledge from our store teams, to offer them a greater level of support when they may need it most,” JAX Tyres & Auto CEO and executive director, Steve Grossrieder said.

“Whether it’s leveraging new technologies or tapping into the best-in-class expertise within our franchise network, we’re committed to delivering premium retail service in increasingly innovative and agile ways.”

The mechanical service provider is also providing support to Victorians with a free JAX Vehicle Inspection and free pick-up and drop-offs at participating stores.
