Global payment provider, Klarna and leading SaaS ecommerce platform, Big Commerce, will expand their partnership into the Australian market.

With this expansion, Australian retailers on the BigCommerce platform will now be able to integrate Klarna’s shopping experience and flexible payment options into their customer offering.

An optimised consumer journey has been shown to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty, while paying in instalments increases average order value (AOV) by up to 45% and a decrease in abandoned carts.

Klarna Australia and New Zealand country head, Fran Ereira said, “Customers love the totally frictionless shopping experience they have with Klarna. From a retailer’s perspective, we make things safe and easy – and from a customer perspective we remove the risk through our Klarna Buyer’s Protection.

“Our partnership with BigCommerce allows us to bring this experience to even more retailers at a time when making things simple is so critical. Together we will help retailers meet the increasingly high demands of consumers in a competitive environment where your customer experience really must stand out.“

BigCommerce general manager for APAC, Shannon Ingrey added, “All too often, checkout serves as a major – but unnecessary – point of friction in the online buying journey. Consumers should feel empowered to make a purchase, not paralysed by uncertainty.

“Klarna has been instrumental in helping BigCommerce merchants around the world remove those barriers to purchases so they can instead focus on creating brand loyalty through a pleasant checkout experience, and we’re excited to expand our partnership to the local community.”
