Appliances Online saw air-conditioning sales soar by over 100% over the long weekend as Sydneysiders struggled through record-breaking temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius. According to CEO James Fleet, the most popular products were split system units.
Taree Leading Appliances also experienced an immediate escalation in sales and enquiries on air conditioning systems following the sudden heatwave, according to proprietor Peter Bolte.
“We have sold good initial quantities of Window wall and portable air-conditioning units and good ongoing bookings for split system installation quotes.”
“Early signs are very encouraging for the coming months.”
On Monday, Sydney’s mercury reached 37 degrees, compared to the long-run average for October of 22 degrees and close to the 37.4 degree record set back in 1942.
