Multi-award winning party retailer the Party People is set to launch the biggest Halloween pop up store in Australia just weeks out from the big day.
The 3000 sqm mega store, set to open in an old Toys’R’Us store in Westfield Knox in Victoria, will be the largest party or costume store in Australia.
The retailer opened the pop-up mega store, ‘Halloween Alley,’ just two weeks after signing the lease.
Showcasing thousands of quirky costumes, the store’s launch comes after the company opened a small Halloween pop-up last year.
“The new store will have over 10,000 costumes, candy and Halloween decorations. Many of the products will be from Canada and so not available anywhere else in Australia,” said Dean Salakas, founder of the Party People.
Founded almost 30 years ago by Mala Salakas, then “Patches the Clown” at children’s parties, the Party People has since risen to massive success.
The retailer has now partnered with a Canadian company who hosts up to 40 Halloween pop-ups across Canada to bring shoppers Australia’s biggest Halloween pop-up.
Mr Salakas told Retailbiz that opening a store of this size just weeks after signing the lease is unprecedented.
“We would never thought a pop up store of this size was possible to achieve from lease signing to opening in a 2 week period but we are about to attempt it,” he said.
The store will open with a family fun day on 7th September, featuring freebies like face painting, lollies and entertainers like fairies and superheroes.
