Bavarian Hospitality Group (BHG) has teamed up with J2 Retail Systems for the rollout of a new point of sale system across its venues.
J2 has assisted the owner of venues including the Bavarian Bier Café, The Argyle and Löwenbräu Keller with the installation of its J2 650 integrated touch terminal.
“Having such busy outlets creates back of house and front of house challenges that we needed to address. As a result we chose the HNL solution with the J2 650 integrated POS terminal,” Adam Skinner, BHG POS and inventory manager, said.
“We chose J2 because we wanted a local supplier in Sydney that could deal with our fast role out schedule to provide support on an ongoing basis. We also felt confident in dealing with the manufacturer directly.”
The J2 650 has a dual core processor high speed server with RAID and has been designed to be a compact solution, making it ideal for the space conscious retailers. The touch screen computer is an “all in the head” design that fills the role of a counter top or wall/pole mounted computer in the same unit.
Phil Wild, J2 Retail Systems general manager, said: “BHG were looking for a POS terminal that had high performance, high reliability and some features that are paramount in a hospitality environment, including store resistance and could offer ongoing service.”
As a result of introducing the J2 650 with the HNL POS solution, Skinner says the company has seen an in increase in support levels and a decrease in downtime across the group.
Over 100 new POS terminals were rolled out over a six week period.
