NEC Computers has recently introduced its next generation designer notebooks featuring the latest Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor. The new notebooks are one of the first in the world to feature a Skype™ One-Touch Activation button, making it easy to chat with friends and family through the integrated digital WebCam, microphone, and Skype™ software.
With the latest Intel® Centrino® Duo Mobile Technology and Intel® Core™ 2 Duo mobile processor, the NEC VERSA E6210 and E6200 notebooks offer performance with distinctive character, empowering users to ‘do more’ in style with demanding applications. Designed as the next generation computing platform, these notebooks are Windows® Vista™ capable.
Designed in Japan by international award-winning NEC designer, Jun Katsunuma, the NEC VERSA E6210 and E6200 notebooks reflect the epitome of timeless elegance and style. “The most distinct design feature is the external façade of the notebooks which come in dark brown (NEC VERSA E6210) and black (NEC VERSA E6200) with unique textured pattern on the exterior. This unique design provides a firmer, non-slip grip – the perfect balance between design and form,” explained Katsunuma. In addition to the cool latchless LCD panels, the smooth and appealing curves of the notebooks reveal the delicate and detailed attention that was paid to their design.
The new NEC notebooks sport a 14.1” wide screen LCD with a resolution of 1280 x 800, and NEC’s Super Shine View technology for a spectacular visual experience with improved contrast, sharper images and vibrant colours. The VERSA E6210 model offers High-Definition video performance, with dedicated nVidia® GeForce® Go 7300 graphics technology supporting up to 512MB VRAM (with minimum 1GB system memory). nVidia’s PureVideo Technology delivers HD video performance and enables stutter-free life-like video enjoyment on-the-road.
The one-touch video-conferencing enabled notebooks with instant-on voice and video communication will provide enhanced telecommunication benefits to users, with ease-of use as well as significantly lower costs. "In addition, via the integrated WebCam, users are able to see each other’s facial expressions when communicating even wirelessly,” said Tim Falinski, General Manager Sales and Marketing, NEC Computers Australia.
Using Intel® Centrino® Duo mobile technology based notebooks, users can immerse themselves in their music, games and high-definition movies, TV, and video. "For work, Intel® Centrino® Duo mobile technology can improve productivity as well as support enhanced connectivity and security, enabling people to more easily work where and when they want,” said Tim.
The performance and features of NEC’s latest notebooks extend to the ultimate multimedia and entertainment capabilities, with integrated WebCam, Remote Control (Express Card size), DVD Super Multi Drive with Dual layer, DDR II Dual Channel Memory up to 2 GB, HDD up to 100GB. The built-in 4-in-1 memory card reader makes it easy to transfer photos and music files to and from other devices, such as digital cameras. The ECO mode button helps to conserve energy by enabling several power-saving modes, resulting in improved battery life.
The systems offer maximum connectivity with built-in Intel® Pro Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection, integrated 10/100 Mbps LAN for broadband and network access, Bluetooth and four USB 2.0 ports.
As part of NEC’s corporate vision, the new notebooks are RoHS compliant making them more environmentally-friendly by adhering to the EU’s directive on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic devices.
