Payment provider Square and point of sale (POS) platform Vend have partnered to provide more options for retailers.
The collaboration, which launched in the US late last year, lets retailers continue using Vend’s POS while processing payments through Square.
Vend CEO Alex Fala said the partnership is another way for retailers to compete with internationals like Amazon.
“Australian retailers are under increasing threat… In order to compete they need access to the world’s best tools,” he said. “Vend helps retailers provide a better customer experience, with an advanced POS and powerful tools to manage inventory, customers, and their business.”
Square has also integrated with other platforms including TouchBistro, Postboss, Abacus, SalesIn, MObi2Go and Boppl.
Ben Pfisterer, Australia country manager at Square said retailers using any of these platforms can continue to use the tools they need while expanding their capabilities.
“Square’s new integrations with our rapidly growing list of partners enable more sellers to have access to payments services that are optimised to their business needs,” he said.
“We’re empowering Australian merchants to run and grow their business with the tools they need, while enjoying the benefits of the Square ecosystem.”
