Myer credit card

Myer is the first Australian retailer to provide Android Pay and Apple Pay on a Visa card in Australia via its new Myer credit card.

The card, issued by Macquarie Bank and powered by Visa payment technology, allows Myer customers to access their card from their smartphone’s digital wallet and when combined with the Myer credit card app, access a range of security features and budgeting tools, designed to make it easy for customers to track and manage their spend.

Myer CEO and managing director, Richard Umbers said, “We are excited to be bringing Android Pay and Apple Pay to the new Myer credit card. The card will provide our customers with an easier way to pay and reward them for their loyalty.”

Head of Macquarie Banking and Financial Services Group, Greg Ward added, “We are delighted to have been chosen as the issuer of the new Myer credit card.

“For many years we have offered credit card products directly and through white label arrangements, and this is the latest step in supporting innovative digital banking solutions. We look forward to working with Myer to provide customers with a leading digital credit card experience that empowers them in managing their finances.”

Visa group country manager, Stephen Karpin said, “It is an exciting time for retail in Australia, with digital technology driving new and imaginative commerce experiences, and how people pay is at the heart of these experiences. It is for this reason we are delighted to be working with Myer and Macquarie Bank to bring the future of commerce to Australians today.”
