It had all the ingredients for a great court case, with Arnott’s threatening legal action over Krispy Kreme’s Iced Dough-Vo doughnut, which is covered in pink icing and coconut flakes like Arnott’s Iced Vo-Vo biscuit.

Arnott’s on one side claiming Krispy Kreme Australia must be coco-nuts to think they can trade off its 103-year old historic Vo-Vo trade mark.

Krispy Kreme Australia on the other saying Arnott’s should be tickled pink the biscuit inspired the limited edition Iced Dough-Vo doughnut of the ‘Fair Dinkum’ doughnut range.

However, today, Arnott’s and Krispy Kreme Australia released a joint statement, with Krispy Kreme Australia agreeing to rename the Iced Dough-Vo from 11 May 2009.
