As part of its new partnership with Make-A-Wish Australia, The Cheesecake Shophas served up a fundraising campaign to support the wish of six-year-old Quinn, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
Quinn was diagnosed at the age of four and has just one wish: ‘to fly with a unicorn’. This wish could soon become a reality with the help of a few thousand unicorn cupcakes baked by The Cheesecake Shop.
From now until November 10, The Cheesecake Shop is offering a limited-edition Unicorn Cupcake featuring a white mudcake base filled with colourful sprinkles and a strawberry jam centre topped with piped bubblegum mousse. The Cheesecake Shop will donate $1 to Make-A-Wish for every cupcake sold across its more than 200 stores in Australia.
Customers can also purchase a donation pledge for $2, $5 or $10, with all proceeds going directly to Make-A-Wish Australia. Pledges will be displayed on a dedicated ‘Wall of Unicorn Belief’ in each store.
The Cheesecake Shop CEO, Scott Bush said the business was founded on a mission to spread hope and joy while celebrating life’s magical moments.
“Nothing embodies joy or delivers hope more perfectly than a Unicorn Cupcake, especially when it can help make a wish come true for a brave little girl like Quinn,” he said.
“We believe that when communities come together, incredible things can happen. By enjoying a Unicorn Cupcake or donating in–store, our customers can contribute to something bigger, creating moments of joy for children who need it most.
“We invite everyone to join us on this magical journey to help grant Quinn’s wish and bring hope to many more children facing critical illnesses. And if we can get our customers to pledge their belief in unicorns, just like Quinn does, then that’s even more magical.”
Quinn announced she’d like to fly with a unicorn while being quite partial to rainbows and unicorn lollipops. In anticipation for her wish day, she has received magical messages from Queen Rainbow, the Queen of Unicorns to open up her eyes and heart to seeing the sparkle in the world.
“Every cupcake and every dollar will bring us one step closer to helping make this wish come true. Through our partnership with Make-A-Wish, we hope to support more wishes and create lasting and meaningful moments for Aussie kids fighting for their future,” Bush said.
Make-A-Wish Australia CEO, Sally Batemansaid the organisation is thrilled to have The Cheesecake Shop and its community rallying together to raise valuable funds.
“These important funds will help us continue granting life-changing wishes for children like Quinn, bringing hope and joy during challenging times. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone supporting these incredible Wish Journeys and helping to make a difference in the lives of critically ill children around the country.”
