Deliveroo has launched its subscription service, Plus, to make ordering more affordable, aimed at supporting families and couples who are ordering larger baskets as a group.

The new subscription offer has two tiers to choose from. The first is $19.99 per month for unlimited free delivery on orders above $20. The second is priced at $6.99 per month for unlimited free delivery on orders above $40.

The launch in Australia follows a successful trial in 2019 where more than 45,000 customers signed up in the first month. Given this popularity, Deliveroo is rolling the offer out to all areas of Australia it operates in.

To support businesses looking to give their teams more perks, Plus will be available for companies to purchase for their employees.

A recent consumer survey commissioned by Deliveroo shows that Australians are seeking value in their purchasing decisions with almost two-thirds (62%) of Australians currently using up to six or more subscription services. When asked about the reason behind their subscription choices, the top reasons are convenience (46%), variety (42%) and cost savings (34%).

Deliveroo Australia CEO, Ed McManus said, “At Deliveroo our mission is to become the definitive food company. We know our customers are ordering more frequently across different meal occasions, whether that’s ordering dinner when they work late or getting groceries delivered on the weekend, and we want to make this more affordable and convenient for them.

“We’re excited about introducing Plus so more people can benefit from free delivery from restaurants and grocery shops at a cheaper price and get access to more exclusive deals than ever before.”
