Leading global payments provider and shopping platform, Klarna has released a new app designed to be a single destination for online shopping, allowing customers to shop anywhere, unlock deals and price drop alerts, manage payments and returns, and view delivery tracking all in one place.

In addition, customers can access live shopping events and additional money saving tools, as well as store loyalty cards.

With Klarna’s interest-free shopping feature, consumers can use Klarna’s payment methods anywhere online or in-store, regardless of whether a retailer is directly partnered with Klarna or not.

Seven in 10 Australian consumers (70%) would choose a single shopping app that enables them to perform multiple actions in place of having to switch between apps, according to a recent Klarna survey.

More than one-third of consumers admit they feel overwhelmed by the number of shopping apps available today with simplifying the shopping experience and time savings the most sought-after benefits from a single integrated shopping app.

Klarna CEO, Sebastian Siemiatkowski said consumers seek simplicity that solves their specific needs in one place and enables a range of activities across their shopping journey.

“Switching between apps is something we as consumers find more frustrating. Today we are announcing a major milestone on our journey to help people save time and money and to give them more control over their finances.

“With the introduction of our new app, Klarna becomes an end-to-end shopping service that caters to many needs from inspiration and discovery to seamless post-purchase experiences. Meanwhile, we’ve made transparent and flexible payments a possibility everywhere because we believe no one should ever have to pay credit card fees or high-interest rates.”

The new app is an update to the existing app that launched in Australia in March 2020. The Klarna app has already been downloaded more than one million times by Australian consumers, and they’ve used its unique one-time card feature to shop more than 25,000 merchants.

Additional features will soon become available including a collective loyalty card space, additional money-saving tools, social features such as live shopping events, product insights like price history, reviews, and store availability, and more. Klarna will also enable third-party integrations to provide even more solutions and services.
