Australian hair care leader, Price Attack has launched a new education platform designed to improve staff retention through upskilling, increase brand recognition and drive recruitment.

The PA Academy has proven a success among salon and retail staff, as well as franchisees, taking advantage of more than 26 education modules covering off the latest in colour and styling, stock take, point of sales tips and more.

With more than 30 years of experience in both the hair care sector and fashion industries, Price Attack business development manager, Seaneen Copeland (pictured) is the lead for group’s educational operations. Copeland identified a way to create energy through education across the network with the academy where new modules, events and ongoing trends in self-development are constantly uploaded.

“I could see this was a company that embraced training. As a group of 70 salons with a 35-year history, to showcase what the franchise is capable of, the academy had to become something of a vision to demonstrate we are not only leaders within hair franchises but also leaders within the whole hair care industry,” Copeland said.

“Unfortunately, there always seems to be a little industry snobbery between creatives and boutique salons who sometimes look at a franchise group and think ‘you are not real hairdressers: you are not creative enough’. I wanted the industry to see that the Price Attack network has the true essence of creativity, innovation and unwavering product knowledge across many brands ensuring quality consultations and service.”

Copeland credits the support of CEO, John Pascoe in sharing her vision, understanding this was not only a chance to shape and elevate the business but make an impact on the industry.

“Research shows companies investing in high quality education and training opportunities not only deepen their employee’s skill sets to thrive during and post pandemic, but also boost organisational agility,” Pascoe said.

“Staff retention is critical to small business even more so for franchisees. The academy creates enthusiasm and energy that carries through to the customer whether that is in our retail side or salon experience.”

The PA academy is up and running with completion of training modules supported by numerous incentives and employee benefits such as invitations to specialised cutting or colouring courses with a guest artist, to passes to hair and fashion expos along with other industry experiences.
