The Working Party, a premier Shopify Plus eCommerce agency headquartered in Melbourne, is expanding into New Zealand, marking a significant milestone in its journey to enhance e-commerce capabilities across the Asia Pacific region.

Since its inception in 2011, The Working Party has established itself as a powerhouse in e-commerce and retail strategy throughout Australia, serving brands such as JB Hi-Fi, KOOKAÏ, Assembly Label, Lovisa and Deus Ex-Machina. The expansion coincides with substantial team growth at The Working Party, which has expanded 35% since 2023.

The Working Party co-founder, Kelly Brown said, “Through partnering with a number of clients in the region over the past 12 months to assist with their e-commerce strategy and implementation, we discovered a number of highly skilled professionals in this space, spanning development, design, strategy, and delivery, and brought them on board to join our team.

“The New Zealand retail industry is full of established and emerging brands that we would like to work with more closely to amplify the talented work taking place here. By formalising our operations in New Zealand, we hope to demonstrate our commitment to be a part of these brands’ unique growth journeys.”

In celebration of its expansion, The Working Party hosted an exclusive retailer dinner in Auckland, in partnership with Klaviyo, to foster meaningful connections and discussions about the future of e-commerce in New Zealand.

The event was an extension of the successful dinner series previously hosted by the agency in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney. The Working Party will continue meeting quarterly with retailers across both Australia and New Zealand.

In addition to expanding into New Zealand, The Working Party continues to attract new clients in Australia, launching new stores for retailers, ModiBodi, Swimwear Galore, and CSD Brands, as well as men’s streetwear multi-brand retail company, Neverland.
