In their heyday, steam trains chugged out of Parramatta Station on their way to deliver the mail, now events have come full circle and parcels are being delivered to train stations for people to pick up.

Australia Post has installed around 80 lockers at Parramatta Station so that customers can grab their parcels for free on their way to or from work, rather than miss a delivery because they are not home.

The Western Sydney station is the second phase of Sydney Trains’ Click and Collect scheme, and follows a trial at Bondi Junction Station, where customers could pick up their Woolworths online delivery from station lockers.
