With the peak Christmas season fast approaching, Australian shipping company, Sendle has rolled out a Pandemic Relief Package reducing its shipping rates by up to 30% as part of its commitment to help small business.
Since Sydney went into lockdown on 26 June, Sendle’s weekly parcel volumes have increased 69% and in Melbourne, weekly parcel volumes have increased by 30% since 14 July compared to the six weeks prior.
The reduction in shipping rates will see a 25kg case of Shiraz shipped from Brunswick to Berwick in Melbourne for just $6.95 and a 1kg 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle sent from Marrickville to Mosman in Sydney for just $6.09.
Sendle chief marketing and customer officer, Eva Ross said the service understands that every little bit helps and hopes the discounts will enable small businesses to thrive this Christmas and recoup earnings after a tough year.
“With Christmas right around the corner, Sendle is supporting small businesses by helping them save on shipping costs through the upcoming peak season. We’ve launched a Pandemic Relief Support Package and reduced our rates by up to 30% until the end of 2021,” she said.
“Use this month before peak kicks in to review your expenses and identify where costs can be cut and savings can be made now. Planning ahead will ensure your small business is in the best position possible for the peak season. I would also encourage small business owners to make sure they’ve carefully researched whether their business is entitled to any Federal or State government support.”
