Sustainable e-waste solutions provider, Zolo has rolled out its one-for-one technology exchange program, which sees old laptops disposed of resulting in a refurbished tablet being provided for communities most in need.

The initiative sees Zolo responsible for collection, data destruction and disposal needs and run tailored sessions with Australian businesses, showcasing the importance of sustainable practices, the benefit to businesses and the environment, as well as highlighting the communities which will be supported through the technology donations.

To qualify for the program, disposed laptops must have not endured any screen or water damage and can’t be over four years old as Zolo seeks to transform businesses’ old IT fleet into impactful charitable donations.

With some of Australia’s biggest brands already working with Zolo as part of the organisation’s Tech Recycling Program, others are being encouraged to join the movement and give back, especially ahead of climate disclosure regulations taking effect on 1 January 2025.

Zolo founder and CEO, Franz Siasat said, “We strongly feel that ‘tis the season for giving back and are encouraging all Australian businesses to support both sustainable e-waste disposal but also help provide tech solutions for individuals and communities who require them the most.

“Our service to businesses allows them to ‘do good’ and turn their e-waste into impactful donations, all while abiding by data security requirements. We know that organisations are unable to donate straight to charities, as they are not certified to do data erasure, and that’s where Zolo, as an ISO-accredited company, is there to help.”
